Our Story
With a USC degree and 15 years of carpentry and general construction knowledge and experience I opened Seaport Windows and Doors in 1991 at 4201 Katella Ave., in the city of Los Alamitos. Back then it was just my wife Lisa and I, marketing with flyers down the local streets, meeting our neighbors and selling, installing, servicing and generally doing it all as a small local window and door store.
Twenty six years and three children later Seaport Windows and Doors is still going strong and stands tall in the window and door replacement industry.
With install crews, a warehouse manager, and an office and sales staff Seaport Windows and Doors has grown to become a respected industry leader in the sales and installation of replacement windows and doors.
MILGARD, JELD WEN, PLY GEM, IWC, IWP, PLASTRO, EMTEK, and BALDWIN are just some of the manufacturers we sell, install and service.
Straight replacement windows and exterior doors, new construction windows and doors, full front elevation face lifts and re-designs as well as cut downs, build ups and new window locations are all items within the installation/building capability of Seaport Windows and Doors.
With product development a main focus at Seaport, we have developed and are now building and installing the “ULTIMATE” door and the “ULTIMATE” window. Exterior Bi folding doors and windows in a myriad of design layouts that blend form and function to create an unsurpassed blend of indoor and outdoor living, and really grey the line between interior and exterior space.

Alex D. Herrera
- Founder and President of Seaport Windows and Doors
- 45 years of construction knowledge and building experience and 26 years of successfully leading the way at Seaport Windows and Doors has made Alex an expert in the window industry and an incredible source of knowledge and know how. He remains well respected in the industry by both his peers and competitors.
- Bachelor of Arts degree from USC in 1973 and a Harris Fellow.
- Husband, family man, father coach and mentor and huge fan of four beautiful children, Kris, AJ, Megan and Molly and one beautiful granddaughter Karly.
- Avid Water Ski Racer, circle and marathon racing, Catalina Water Ski Race winner as an observer and part of the first three man American team to ever win the Men’s World Championship of Water Ski Racing.
- Alex enjoys football, boating, water skiing, watching his children compete in sports, and spending time with his children on the lake, and especially on the Island of Kauai.
Tara Christopher
- A South Dakota native, Tara comes from over twenty years in Business Management. She has been with Seaport Windows and Doors since 2013 and she is an avid Broncos fan.
